Criminal Solicitor – Birmingham City Centre

Kang & Co Solicitors, based at 1 Victoria Square in Birmingham City centre are recruiting for a criminal defence solicitor with experience of motoring offences. The firm has a large amount of high-quality work and now require someone to take on matters involving motoring prosecutions and privately funded criminal cases.
Specialising in motoring offences, private criminal defence and regulatory law, the firm does not take on any legally aided cases and prides itself on delivering very high-quality representation to clients facing criminal proceedings in all criminal courts ranging from simple motoring prosecutions to complex regulatory prosecutions.
The office is based in Birmingham City Centre however, there will be requirements to travel to Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, as and when the company requires due to the nature of the position.
The role is predominantly 8:30am – 5:00pm with no out of hours police station cover required and offers a competitive salary depending upon skill and expertise. The position would ideally suit a criminal solicitor looking to move away from legally aided work and looking to focus on representing motorists and private paying clients.
The successful applicant will be experienced in a range of Magistrates’ Court cases and able to handle a busy caseload. To fit into the team, the successful candidate must be hardworking, willing to work as part of a team and possess excellent people skills.
All levels of experience will be considered however, experience of Court advocacy is essential.

At present we have decided not to offer training contract positions at Kang & Co Solicitors, our stance on this is unlikely to change over the foreseeable future.
We have no paralegal positions available at this time and do not intend to hire paralegals in the near future.
