Kang & Co Solicitors understands the importance of charity and supporting our local communities. That is why each year Kang & Co look to support and raise funds for charities in the local community. For the past 3 years we have taken up a annual partnerships with different charities.
Charities We Have Supported
Sense have been the 2021 charity partner of Kang & Co Solicitors. Throughout the year we have raised funds to the sum of £2000, which last week we were delighted to present to the charity in person.

The £2000 donation will go a long way to helping us support children and adults with complex disabilities in the region from our Touchbase Pears Centre in Selly Oak and we are truly thankful to them for all of their support.”

Our current charity partner for 2020 are W.A.S.U.P (Walsall Against Single Use Plastic), a local charity that looks to help tackle the challenges our environment faces, and in particular the over use of single use plastics that are literring our streets, countryside, waterways and oceans.
Manjinder Kang, Director & Solicitor for Kang & Co said “I am a keen supporter of local charities and when I was contacted by W.A.S.U.P and saw the good work the charity is doing to promote awareness of the risks caused by plastic waste, and how small changes in our daily lifestyles can significantly reduce plastic pollution I was keen for Kang & Co Solicitors to support this worthy cause.”
Prof Gatrad, the founder of the charity said; “It is only with the help of people like Manjinder Kang that I am able to do the work I do. I founded WASUP 2 years ago. WASUP is about raising awareness of the scourge of plastic, educating schools and the community, and encouraging litter clean both on the streets and the canals. To date we have many schools that are part of WASUP as are WHG, Homeserve , McDonalds, the Walsall College and the Manor Hospital. In addition all faith groups help clean up litter at least once a week and this has helped community cohesion no end. It is my hope that the Walsall model is replicated in all parts of the country.’
In January 2019 we chose Acorns Children’s Hospice as our 2019 charity partner with a goal to raise funds and awareness for the children’s hospices based in the Midlands which provides essential specialist palliative care services to babies, children, young people and their families across the region.
We have worked tirelessly to promote the charity throughout 2019 and has raised a total of £1,500 in donations for the charity.
Amy Deakin, Partnership Fundraising Manager for New Business & Projects said; “We’re extremely grateful for supporters like Kang & Co Solicitors as they help fund our ongoing work providing vital care to children with life limiting and life-threatening conditions. By setting up a Just Giving page linked to Acorns Children’s Hospice, they were able to share this with their clients, suppliers and contacts when encouraging them to support the great cause, and as a result, have achieved the marvellous grand total of £1,500 this year. What a great way to give back to your local children’s hospice at Christmas! Thank you to all those individuals and businesses involved, and especially Kang & Co for enabling this support!”
Acorns provides babies, children and young people aged 0 – 18 years who have life limiting or life-threatening conditions and associated complex needs with a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support.
Acorns serves the areas of Birmingham, Coventry and Warwickshire, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
Manjinder Kang, Director of Kang & Co Solicitors said; “It’s been a pleasure supporting Acorns throughout 2019. The support and assistance provided to children and their families is crucial, and I am glad that we were able to help by raising donations via our JustGiving page”.
At the start of 2018 the lawyers at Kang & Co Solicitors chose Birmingham Dogs Home as their charity partner for 2018 and the company is delighted to have supported the charity throughout the year, by volunteering, raising awareness and finishing the year off with a donation of £1,000
Manjinder Kang, Director and Solicitor said; “We were delighted to have chosen Birmingham Dogs Home as our charity partner for 2018, we were keen to choose a local Birmingham based charity, given that our head office is based in Birmingham City Centre.” He added; “In June 2018 some of our lawyers attended the dog’s home for the day and volunteered with cleaning the kennels and assisting with other general duties, it was a great opportunity to really understand and appreciate the hard work carried out by other volunteers and staff members at the dog’s home”
The home is a charity which can only survive through the generosity and support of the general public and benefactors from the local community. Without this Birmingham Dogs Home would be unable to carry on the vital work of rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs.
The tremendous help given over the years has allowed the home to improve and extend its facilities and, therefore, its ability to care for these unfortunate former pets.
Rachel Frost from the Dogs Home said “We can’t thank the team enough for all their support throughout 2018. Having the team come in and see first-hand just how hard our team work and how their support is vital is really important to us. Without support from companies like Kang & Co we would not be able to carry out the vital work across the West Midlands and South Staffordshire Area. It was a real pleasure meeting the team and with their help we can now give our dogs a great start to 2019 – Thank you.”
