    Speeding Solicitors

Speeding is the most common motoring offence committed throughout England and Wales. The first notification that you will receive is called a ‘Section 172 Notice’ requiring the registered keeper to inform the police of the identity of the person driving when a speed trap was triggered. It is crucial to obtain legal advice early in the process, as a conviction for Failing to Provide Driver Details attracts 6 penalty points.

The penalties that can be imposed for Speeding Offences occurring in Derby can range from penalty points or a driving ban of up to 56 days. If you already have points endorsed upon your driving licence, there is a risk that you could accumulate 12 or more points on your driving licence which will result in a Totting Up Ban of at least 6 months.

If you are unsure of how many active penalty points you have on your driving licence at present, you can check online by using the DVLA Website.

      Avoid a Totting Up Ban

An endorsement of penalty points on your driving licence will lead to increased insurance premiums and could result in the loss of your licence due to exceeding 12 points.

Our lawyers are skilled in presenting Exception Hardship Applications, which if successful will prevent you from receiving a Driving Ban
